1939 Air Ministry Marked Leather Jerkin. In nice used condition with only one small hole to the leather, this does not go thru the inside cloth liner, the two cuts across the shoulders in my opinion are deliberate to make the jerking fold along the wearers shoulders, the cuts do no go into the interior lining. Clear AM mark and code to the inside. Size i would say is a medium. Nice to find a RAF jerkin and one with an early date.
1939 Dated British Ambulance Helmet. In very nice condition with nearly 100% of its period black finish to the outside and inside rim, the two white letters again in solid condition. The triangular patch has been removed at some point from the side, would appear to have been stitched on by the corners only. I have not tried to open the side popper and the centre has been stitched closed, all grommets are tight to the body. Puggaree has five bands and is snug up and stitched front and back to the cap. A very nice combat used example.
1943 Deutscher Jugend Meister Award. Still found attached to part of the British Naval money belt is this well used but extremely rare 1943 dated Hitler Youth award. The condition is as seen in the pictures with loss of the red enamel to the bottom half of the diamond and only a certain amount of its period finish found around the date , the rear has lost its fixing pin and the veteran has mounted the badge to his belf by drilling holes eitjer side and using thread. I cannot find any markings to the rear of the badge. The belt was brought back by a Cardiff naval veteran who was ended up being docked in Bremen at the end of the war, the belt was complete with a number of high end naval awards pinned to the body of the belt, they have all gone now but whats left and seen in the photos is whats up for sale, even with the damage i think it would be near impossible to find another example.

An interesting note is the inside lining made from German tan herringbone material. Ive not managed to ID the two formation patches but perhaps as someone stated they might well be for the 9th Scottish Infantry Division, or not???? I purchased this a number of yeas ago as i found it interesting, now its time for a new home.
1945 Dated ARP Battle Dress Blouse. Wartime example with a nice period ARP cloth badge sewn aboe the front pocket. Insidehas a nice clear 1945 dated label. Im afraid to say this example has some good moth damage to certain areas, mostly to the bottom right side under the pocket and arm, another moth rip to the top collar area with a couple more moth nips to the back. The leather cover to the handle has only minimal wear to the high points and the wire is complete and without damage. The Puma marked blade is very clean with its factory grain present and only minimal surface marks that will clean up a treat in my opinion, blue leather washer to the top of the blade present. The scabbard has 100% of its leather covering with just a couple of wear marks and none of the screws have been tampered with. Chain is complete as is the 'OLC' and 'Ges Gesch' marked clip. K98 Bayonet Leather Frog. 1940. Cavalry example thats in nice condition with supple leather and tight stitching, maker and date stamp to the rear.
K98 Bayonet Leather Frog.1942. In very good condition, leather is supple and stitiching tight, to the back is a maker and 42 date stamp. I belive at one point it was a cavalry example.
K98 Bayonet, 1941 Dated, Maker '' i ''. Would appear to be an untouched example with the blade with some factory finish to the tang areas, tip is sound. The tang is marked to both sides, one side being marked with the makers code '' i '' the other having the number ''9812'' over ''h''. The hilt has a certain amount of dark surface verdigris , top fixing button is stiff but working and is waffenampt mark as is the top of the pommel, both grip plates are in sound undamaged condition. The steel scabbard has a dark patina and one knock, its unmarked but doeas appear to have a waffenampt stamp to the ball. The leather cavalry frog has some damage to top but from the overall appearance i would say frog and bayonet are period to each other.
K98 Bayonet, 1942 ''asw''. The actual bayonet is the cleanest ive had for some time, blade has close to all its factory finish, the tip area has lost some from going in and out of the scabbard, tip is fine. Both side's of the tang are marked, ''41asw'' and ''9543'' over a ''d''. The hilt again in very fine condition with the fixing button and top pommel being waffen stamped. The grips are very nice with no chips, cracks or scratches. The steel scabbard im sorry to say has lost all its finish, one small patch of surface rust, marked to both side, ''43crs'' and ''3283'' over ''h''. FOR SALE TO OVER 18'S AND UK ONLY!
K98 Bayonet, 41 ''cul''. A very nice example with the blade having virtually all its factory finish, marked ''41 cul'' and ''4299 a''. The hilt again with nnearly all its finish with various waffenampt stamps, grips are have no damage. The steel scabbard again with nearly all its factory finish and waffenampt mark to the ball. Its a mismatched example. FOR SALE TO OVER 18'S AND UK ONLY!

Kreigsmarine Costal Artillery Uniform Breast Eagle. Machine woven example that was uniform removed, has been folded for a number of years so might need an iron passing over if wishing.
Kreigsmarine Duffle Bag. No markings to be found to the cloth bag or leather straps, condition is very good with some storae marks, leather is supple, one strap broken to the inside cloth bag. No top tie rope and the remains of a paper label of sorts to the outside.
Kreigsmarine M35 SD Combat Helmet. ET66. In what i would call ''barn found'' condition with around 75% of its factory finish to the outside, the layered KM decal rates at 80% complete, the tri colour has been carefully removed as per 1940 regulations just leaving a tiny amount of black border to the top and right side. The pins holding the reinforced aluminium liner band are tight with washers and have not been disturbed, i have not tried to read the date and maker to the band. The leather liner is complete and supple with just a touch of dryness, no tips have been pulled through, only the stitching to the rear has come adrift. The shell is stamped to the firm ET and is size marked 66 and the rear lot number appears to be 4432.
Kreigsmarine T BLC,7X50 H, Binoculars. Nr660. In very nice condition with perfect optics and sharp focus. The body has no dents or knocks of any kind just slight wear to the on the covering on the body from hand use and minor paint loss to the cetral and cross bars, bottom bar is marked Nr 660. With this set comes its period leather neck strap and lens rain cover. Now the only issue i can find is the masked off repainted base on the left hand side and the right side not beeing marked. The set either never had any markings or was replaced postwar, both theories being mentioned on numerous forums on the internet.
Kriegsmarine Bullion Breast Eagle. A very nice example with just some minor corrosion to the bullion, appears to have been uniform removed.
Ladies RAF Compact. In very nice condition.
Large Dedicated Imperial German 1913/14 Dated Officers Mess Silver Topped Glass Inkwell. A very nice example of a large glass inkwell with silver marked lid the top being marked for an officers mess and dated 1913/14. To the back of the lid under the hinge are clear silver 800 with Imperial crown and a makers marks. The glass body is without damage, no chips or cracks, the only damage being a small chip from the actual removable glass well, this does not detract from wat is a very nice example. I belive the silver mark relates to a firm called Franz Mosgau from Berlin.
Large Imperial German Eagle Desk Top Inkwell. Large metal desk top inkwell in the form of a large eagle with outspread wings on top of a rocky outcrop, the inkwell lid is in the form of a tigers head. No damage and i cannot find any makers marks. Glass inner well is without damage.

Large Vintage Automatic Pistol Leather Holster. Large holster thats in very nice condition with supple leather, tight stitching , one thread loose at the bottom. There are no markings but going from the construction id hazard a guess at British manufacture. Sorry to say i have no idea on what auto would have fitted this holster but as seen in the photos the holster was used for a slightly shorter model going by the wear pattern. Approx size is illustrated in the last picture.
Late War German Helmet Chinstrap, ftb44. An unissued example, buckle has nearly all its grey finish, leather is in sound supple condition with a certain amount of crazing to the black finish.
Late War Quist M42 Helmet Shell. Scarce example of a Quist made M42 combat helmet thats in solid condition, this is not a relic thats been filled and then sprayed! The outside finish has been done with a professional hand, it has one knock to the top were the metal can be seen, there is another finish underneath but i cannot make out if this is wartime period. The inside has a couple of diffrent colours. At some point someone has scratched the back of the skirt to reveal the ''Q64'' stamp, underneath the Lot number can be seen. Apparently all Quist 42's are marked Q64.

Letters And Medal From RAF Sergeant P.D.H.Mcgovern Killed Over France 1940. Mcgovern was tragically killed in June 1940 when his Blenheim was lost over France in 1940, one of six Blenheims lots that night due to bad weather. 12 Hurricanes and 12 Blenheims were being ferried to reinforce the besieged Island of Malta when all ran into very bad conditions. Mcgovern and the other two crew members are buried at the Charroux communial cemetary. The group consists a number of letters written by Mcgovern to his father from 1938 ,four are when he was training as a member of the RAFVR, all have had the address details ripped from the corners, others are from his time when he was working in a few hotels in Switzerland, going by his letters he needed to leave the local area for a while as there appears to have been a certain amount of trouble over a girl. A number of letters during his training mention his forthcoming marriage to a lady older than him, he doesnt seem that keen but belives its the right thing for him and if anything happens she will be paid by the forces till the end of the war. One letter does mention how dangerous his job is and that according to statistics he only has 7 minutes life. The small picture of Mcgovern has his details written on the back. The rest has something to do with his father, note books and medical card, The War medal in box with no name as also found in the wooden box, perhaps his only entitlement! Just to add, the box has a hand written message to the inside lid dated 1914 from Matron to Catherine? He wasnt far wrong about a dangerous job and due to fate he didnt die in action but due to unforeseen circumstances, poignant really, not sure if he even married the girl as this small lot was found recently in the attic of a house during a clearance here in the Cardiff area.
Lieut H.May, No4 POW Camp Thailand, Family Visit to Grave. Poignant scrapbook put together my H.May's father during a visit by his parents to see his grave in Kanchanaburi cemetery in 1978. Lieut May died in captivity in 1945, i belive he was captured during the fall of Singapore in 42. The book has two large period photos of May in RA uniform to the front, there are a number of copied letters from certain ex POW's the father was in touch with at the end of WW2 about his son in the camps. One page has correspondence with the BBC trying to contact Ronald Searle and a photocopy of his reply to the family. The rest is full of photos and other papers relating to a visit by his parents to see his grave. All are cellotaped into the album and quite a few are loose but i belive all are present. On the last page is a snap shot of one veteran who was in the same camp with his son. There are 22 pages and all are full. Recently found in a local flee market this week in the South Wales area. Was priced at 50

Long KS/98 Dress Bayonet. In nice condition with the blade having bright finish, sorry but this one is unmarked. The hilt again with bright finish and just the minimal of spotting to the surface, fixing button in working order and both grips are in very nice condition. The steel scabbard has a good amount of its black finish but there is an amount of rust bleed that's taken on that very dark patina over the years. May i add there is the slightest of movement to the blade. FOR SALE TO OVER 18'S AND UK ONLY.
Long KS/98 Dress Bayonet. Alcoso This example is in nice condition with the blade having nice bright finish with minimal staining, the Alcoso trademark is clear. The hilt has lost some of its finish to the plating, mainly around the pommel, fixing button in working order and both grips are without damage. The steel scabbard has 80% of its period finish, no dents. May i add that the front thumbnail picture is a generic one ive taken from another bayonet as i managed to erase the actual image, silly me!! The rest , image 1 to 5 on the main page are of the bayonet in question. FOR SALE TO OVER 18'S AND UK ONLY!
Luftschutz Gladiator Helmet. In very nice condition with over 98% of its period finish intact, just a couple of marks from storage. The decal rates again at over 98%, one scuff only. The inside liner and chinstrap are complete and in supple condition, original liner tie present. Clear makers details to the back of the shell. I would not call this example mint or unissued but what i can say is that condition shows that its had very little use!
Luftwaffe Fallschirmjager Messer, WW2 German Para Knife, SMF. In good used condition, wood grips are complete with some bruising and wear along one side. Metal fittings have taken on a dark patina, top catch is numbered to the back, the marlin spike has a an eagle 5 mark. The blade has minimal sharpening and a clear makers mark for the SMF firm. Spring has been repaired to the top with a blob of weld, perhaps period going by the patina. Spring, marlin spike and blade in working condition.
Luftwaffe Fighting / Boot Knife, Eagle 5 Mark. In very nice condition with fine undamaged wooden grips, blade has a eagle stamp 5 to the top under the crossguard, minor sharpening to one side. The steel scabbard retains nearly all its factory finish, both side prongs are without damage.
Luftwaffe Flight EM/NCO Visor Cap. Unit Marked and Named. KG355. Cap is in good as found condition, this came to me with a couple of others that were brought back by a local veteran, it would appear he didnt take good care with storage as the cap had been folded for some time. The material has maybe one or two moth nips only, the front stiffener was removed giving it a nice look, eagle has gone and there was a cloth breast eagle once applied to the area. The cockade has one broken pin to the rear from the cap being folded! Chinstrap is complete and supple. The inside is in good order but the peak is loose at the corners again from having been folded over the years, sweatband is complete as is the lining, clear makers details to the top, inside the lining is the unit stamp a 1938 date and the added bonus of the owners name tag. The unit stamp relates KG 355 that later became KG55 Legion Condor. Ive had this cap for a couple of months sat on a glass head and the visor is getting its shape back, with a bit of TLC i belive this would be an easy restoration.
Luftwaffe Flying Technical Personnel Trade Patch with Gold Bullion Border. In very nice condition with complete surround of gold coloured bullion border.
Luftwaffe LKpN101 Summer Flight Helmet. Netzkopfhaube. In nice used condition with good leather, good netting and throat mikes intact, inside has nice sheepskin to the ears and inner bakelite cups, clear cloth label. The driving licence, Kraus was part of a motorized unit, has clear details and a clear photo to the inside. The POW Soldbuch is in nice condition and is dated 9/7/45 with this is his 24th of Sept, 45 dated Certificate of discharge from British Zone POW camp .
Luftwaffe Winter LKpW101 Flight Crew Helmet In nice untouched condition, all stitching tight, both side straps are fixed to there poppers, i have not tried to open these as the helmet appears to have been layed flat for a number of years. Same goes for the top strap, its complete but not tried to loosen it. The inside sheep skin has a split down the middle and the front crown area has been damaged from storage. Clear label to the inside. No internal communication equipment as used by bomber crews etc.
M1905 16'' M1 Bayonet. Utica Cutlery Company. Condition is good with the blade having a slight surface rust and spotting along its length, both sides are marked. The heavy black plastic type grips are without damage with its period fixing screw. The fixing button founjd at the bottom of the handle has been lost but i know that a restoration would not be a problem. Sorry no scabbard came with this bayonet when found last week in a local house clearance. FOR SALE TO OVER 18's AND UK ONLY.
M34 Feuerschutzpolizei Helmet, Erel. A well used fire helmet with its period leather neck flap. The helmet has recived an extra coat of black finish over the outside shell. The inside has all its early fixtures including the early spring clip chinstrap, supple liner thats double marked by the Erel firm and all rear neck flap fittings. On close inspection i belive i can make out the two decals under the overpaint. May i add that a quick wipe over the shell with a damp cloth will bring the finish up a treat!
M34 Feuerschutzpolizei Helmet. In very nice condition, outside of the shell has had a second coat of black, this rates at over 98% intact, minor scuffs etc. No decal seen under this second coat. The inside liner and chinstrap are complete and in supple condition, underneath the liner near the brow is a folded news paper, i pressume for comfort. I managed to fold back one corner and found that its a wartime NSKK paper but have not removed it for closer inspection, well its been there for over 75 years and best to leave it as is. Makers symbol stamped to the back neck area of the helmet.
M34 Square Dip Luftschutz Steel Helmet. Condition is very good with over 90% of its dark blue factory finish remaining, one small ''ding'' to the rear only.Ive not tried to clean and belive a light wipe with a damp cloth would bring up the finish The liner pins are tight. The front decal is nearly 99% complete with just the slightest of bubbling to the bottom area. The inside paint finish is complete with the late war cloth type liner in supple condition but one tear near the front on one side. The supple liner again complete but one end has come through the side rivet which holds the strap to the sides, i belive this can be repaired without to much work. All in all a nice scarce Luftschutz model.
M35 Reichsbahn Visor Cap. In very nice condition with sharp colour to the caps material, couple of minor stains and a couple of moth nips to the red piping only, cap still retains a good solid shape. The blue cloth chinstrap is interwoven with gold cloth held onto the visor by two gold coloured buttons. The eagle i belive has been added as im certain these should be gold in colour, its the right pattern but i would expect this to have been a zinc example and guilded. The inside lining and sweat band are complete, just a small section of the celluloid remains, faint makers details can be seen but i cannot make them out. May i add that the two ''whiteout'' patches seen in the photos are due to moisture in my camera lense and not fading to the visor material.
M35 Single Decal Combat Helmet, ET62. A nice M35 helmet with over 90% of its reissued paint remaining to the outer and nearly all its first apple green factory finish to the inside. The decal rates at around 55% complete, no trace of the tri shield to the other side under the paint. The liner has taken on a nice dark brown from use, its in supple condition and named. The chinstap has had lots of use and has stretched a bit from lots of use, long end is strong and supple, short end is complete but frail, ive wrapped this end in a plastic sleeve to protect it. The helmet is named twice. A nice combat used example.
M35 Woodchip Camouflage Helmet. In what i would call semi relic condition is this M35 helmet that has a heavy woodchip camo applied , it would appear this application saved the outside from the results of bad storage over the years. The woodchip id rate at over 90% complete with its colour , a few areas are missing showing the previous coats including the factory green, cannot find any trace of decals. There is one original liner pin remaining, the back one has been added. The inside liner and chinstrap would appear to be the original period example as they match the condition of the shell perfectly but i found out after purchasing in a dark show room that it is indeed a replacement but a very good matching addition. The long end of the chinstrap has broken and the liner frame has split near on chinstrap bale. So not a bad looking woodchip camouflage helmet that displays nicely and much cheaper than the usual examples of period woodchip camo helmets.
M35 Woodchip Camouflage Helmet. EXTRA PHOTOS. EXTRA PHOTOGRAPHS........
M38 Luftschutz Helmet. Three piece constructed Gladiator helmet with around 95% of its original factory finish, the decal again id say 95% intact. The inside liner is in used condition with one tounge end missing , the chinstrap is complete but has a break, liner and strap are supple. The rear has a number stamp and the former owner has scratched his name inside.
M40 Single Decal Combat Helmet, Q64. This Q64 helmet still retains over 97% of its factory textured finish to the outside and all its smooth finish to the inside. The decal rates at around 45% intact. The liner has nice colour and is in very nice condition, the tie chord appears to be original to the helmet. Chinstrap is RBN numbered and in fine condition but the short end is missing. The liner rattles slightly but as seen from one picture the pins have not been tampered with.
M42 No Decal German Combat Helmet. In very nice condition with lets say 99% of its period flat factory finish intact, some minor scrapes from storage and two small knocks to the top. The shell is stamped NS66 to the rear and has a clear factory ink stamp to the inner dome. Pins are tight! The liner is complete and supple and has had light use if any at all.
Matching Numbers Kreigsmarine K98 Bayonet,Carl Eickhorn. Nice scarce bayonet being not only matching numbers but also a navy marked example with the added bonus of being made by the firm Eickhorn. Its in untouched condition with the blade having over 95% of its factory finish, no sharpening and nice point. The handles are free from damage just a slight stain to one side. Pommel, crossguard and flashguard are in nice condition with top fixing button in working order. The metal scabbard has a certain amount of minor dents to the back and staining, taking on a dark overall patina. The leather cavalry frog is complete but the leather has turned solid with only the strap being in supple condition, i cannot find any markings and would say its the original example thats allways been with the bayonet. The crossguard is stamped ''O 11325K'', both the blade and scabbard are stamped ''6884 n''. FOR SALE TO OVER 18's AND UK ONLY.

No cast number to be found on the pommel. The scabbard is complete with both pairs of wings, the top elastic has stretched somewhat. Along the front of the scabbard the owner has penned in ink using a fountain pen his details. It would appear to read...COOK TAYLOR MX 752654 NAVAL COMMANDO'S, the firts name might be GOOK with a dot above the O and there might well be a 1 just in front of the 4. Anyway its allways nice to find a period fighting knife that can be attributed.

His long service include Malaya and Singapore serving with a Gurkha division ending his military service in 1971. The ALKIT made cap is in nice used condition with just a couple of moth nips to the material, there is no name but i did find tucked inside the cap a typed service document and three Army Education Certificates from when Ashford joined up in 1935 as a private. There are traces of a ribbon bar having been removed.
Named WW1 British Soldiers Companion Set. This nice little set recently surfaced from a local house clearance. The condition is very good given its age, the leather wallet is in supple condition but the closure button has pulled through and the pencil is missing. Both the companion and diary are complete with some details written to the back of the diary. There is a name penned to the top flap of the wallet to a member of the Royal Engineers. Named WW2 RAF Officers Visor Cap. Condition is very good with some slight staining and a couple of moth nips to the material. The bullion insignia has been sewn to the top of the cap as sometimes found, its in nice complete condition with a certain amount of patina. The inside is again complete with the only damage being a rodent nip to one section of the leather and blue material to the edge, its loose in this section, inch perhaps. The inside plastic type material to protect the inside crown has some cracking, padded material iunderneath is very clean, no makers. The owner has added his name to the outside and inside of the leather sweatband, Murphy. As a note when i purchased this over the weekend there was his leather flight jacket, teo cloth pilots wings and a couple of escape maps, they had all been sold by the time i went round for the second time but the info i have might well help with research. Born in Ireland, shot down once been burt during the crash and then spending the rest of the war training other pilots. One of the wings found with the grouping was a fifties Rhodesian paramilitary type earned when he lived in South Africa again training the airforce. So with time this might well help in finding an ID of the former owner. Anyway what im selling is a nice WW2 example thats seen use and is named.
Named WW2 Royal Engineers Lt Col Uniform Group. Small grouping of uniform items named to a F.W.Saunders with the service dress and mess dress both named and dated 1938. This example came with five photos of RAF personnel, four taken during there visit to the camp, photos are dated May 20/1945 and one photo of these lads lined up in front of a Wellington bomber. Id say the helmet has 40 % of its period finish to the outside of the shell with the side area were the shield is having being protected over the years. The inside still has its steel inner frame with all pins present. Now to what i would call the ''money shot'', that is the white and red painted shield used by Russian Volunteers serving in the German army, the condition is over 85% present with lots of crazing to the paint finish, its clear and period to the helmet. I purchased the helmet from someone who picked it up in Belgium in the late 1970's whilst on holiday, Russians Volunteers were stationed in the Normandy area in 1944 and would have been pushed back through Belgium during the retreat. The scabbard is the early anodised type with nearly all its finish , throat and bottom chape have all screws and its hanging loop. May i add that to the back there is a certain amount of very small knocks to the bottom of the handle, throat and the top of the anodised scabbard from being worn and will not detract from the overall condition of the dagger, its just part of its history folks.

Salty Combat Dog! Luftwaffe M35 Former Double Decal. Q64. Well its definetly a salty dog with some storage issues but as found last week in Germany. The helmet left the factory as a Luftwaffe double decal and recived at least another three coats of paint during its life, one being a white winter finish that was painted over by the last coat of dull green. Outside has , well lets say 50% of its finish remaining, the rest showing the usual rust but no pitting. Some of the tri colour decal can be seen thru the paint, the eagle is hidden under the layers of over paint. The inside has its complete, leather in supple condition but has come adrift from its frame, the aluminium frame has rotted from storage in certain areas. One of the early liner pins is missing, one is tight to the shell whilst the back has been pulled but still complete with its washer. The chinstrap has a makers mark and is in supple condition. Inside shell has most of its factory finish. The helmet peak has a slight kink, hope its shown in the photos, but i cannot find any area of damage from a serious knock needed to create this damage, perhaps done period time during its combat life and before the last coat of paint. Salty, original, untouched and never been in a collection before!

The brass throat to the leather scabbard is stamped 102.R.9.88, the leather has lost its stitching and the bottom chape has numerous knocks.
Scarce Quist Factory Produced Steel Helmet , M42. Forget about the paint job and decal, what we have here is a M42 combat shell produced by the firm Quist. The body and straps are supple but the buckle ends have not been move in many years and are very tight and will need feeding if your thinking of adding these to a Mannequin, as seen ive broken the tip off one, still present, and wont be trying the others. So great display piece ''as is'' or if wishing then with a little work they might well be usable. May i add both have the labels attatched and both have the little leather tabs for holding down the breeches.

Belt measures around 42 inches from end to end.
Three Bar Queens South African Service Medal, 38th Coy-IMP:YEO. In very nice untouched condition with plenty of dark patina and only a couple of minor knocks to the rim, id say its been many a year since this medal was polished. Details are sharp. Tinnie, Moers 1936. This example has lost a lot of its finish and its rear fixing pin but with its nice Deco design to the front i thought it would fit in well in someones collection.
Turkish WW1 Ottoman-Empire Belt Buckle. In nice condition with plenty of patina from years of being stored without the ''brasso'' tin coming out of the cupboard. The rear is a bit of an oddity as the catch and prongs have been snapped off and two holes drilled either side near the front?? I've been sratching my head since purchasing this example as to why this was done, doubt if we will ever know. Anyway its still a nice example and will display well.

Unissued Early British Denim Battle Dress Uniform, 1940 and 41 Dated. Early P37 jacket with pleated pockets, all buttons present and the inside label is fully complete with all details and a nice early 1940 date. The trousers again have all the dished brass buttons and a very clear complete label and again a nice early 1941 date. Going by the condition of jacket and trousers id say the set has never been issued and have been together for quite some time.
Unissued Luftschutz M38 Gladiator Helmet. The flat paint finish has to be nearly 100% intact other than a couple of scrapes from storage, the decal again nearly 100% complete, one scrape to the left wing, liner pins are tight. The inside has all its flat finish and rear decal details. Chinstrap and liner appear to have no use, clean and supple with the period liner string having never been threaded through the tounges. This example and the other i sold recently, item 56282, were found near the city of Koblenze stored in a nunnery, one of twenty Luftschutz gladiator helmets found.

Its a large size 40 and at some point has been taken in by having the belt and buckle removed whilst shortening.Added bonus of having the veterans name penned to the inside. Nice scarce piece of American uniform and im glad i found it as it was being used by an Antique dealer as protective wadding for his furniture!!

US Army/USMC M1912 Campaign Cap. In nice complete condition with the body having heavy use, no holes or snags. The inside is in better condition with complete sweatband. To the inside is the makers details, faded but i belive it could be by ''the stratton hats inc'' , cannot find a date, the owner has inked his name and service number inside. Chinstrap is complete and supple.
US M1911 Colt Auto Pistol Holster, Boyt 44, Open Top Conversion. The holster is in very nice condition, well if you take into account the removal of the top flap, leather is supple and has a clear makers stamp and date to the back. Obviously the former owner thought he needed to get to his pistol in quick time or was a bit of a ''dandy''!
USAAF ANB-H1 Radio Receiver Headset. RAF Use? Nice set thats in good allround condition with the leather being in supple condition and both recivers without cracks. The headset is marked HB-7 with both receivers being marked ANB-H1, made in Chicago. There is only one rubber ear cup im afraid to say. An interesting point with this set is the apparent British Wiring loom and jack plug.
USAAF Summer Flight Helmet, Type AN-H-S. In good condition, clean to the outside as is the inside, id say its most probably an unissued item. Due to storage issues the back strap poppers have seized with the result that someone has pulled one popper through the cap material. The cloth tag to the inside states a size medium

The digital camo cover has bright colour with only two areas of damage around the front liner bolts only, the green elastic strap being held in place by a safety pin to the rear. The cover has not been taken off so i pressume the actual shell remains in very good condition. The inside padding system is clean and complete, the USMC marked suspension system is again complete and in very nice condition. Inside can be seen a clear MSA manufacture label to one side of the helmet.

The scabbard is marked USN MK1 with no damage to the body, top webbed hanger is complete and the fastening popper is in working condition.
Victorian Buff Leather Swivel Carbine Belt. Considering its age this example is in very nice condition with only one small cut to the buff leather to the back, leather is still supple and strong but does appear in distressed condition due to the years of white blanko/ paint applied. The large brass buckle has one fixing prong only and the bottom brass hook swivels as expected from a carbine belt. No markings are to be found and i cannot find a reference to the pattern but in my opinion its a nice period example in need of a good home.
Victorian Hand Painted Police Constable's Truncheon. In nice used condition with close to all its period finish remaining, no chips to the wood just a couple of minor cracks to the tip. The hand painted Victorian crown is around 90% complete with some nice crazing to the paint finish, the constable title again nearly 90% complete.
Victorian Thomas Turner Sportsman's Pocket Knife. A very nice condition early Turner multi tool clasp knife with very nice stag horn grips with no damage. The blades have not been over sharpend and still have a strong spring to them. All metal fittings have staining but no pitting, clear markings to both blades. The three tools on the backside again with heavy spring. At the back of the horn handles the ''tweezers'' can be found but im afraid the ''picker'' has gone. A good solid example of an early Turner Sportsmans pocket knife.
Vintage Fighting Knife, Dirk, Deakin and Ecroyed, Tiger Works. A very nice example of a Victorian dirk made by the firm of Deakin and Ecroyed of Sheffield. The blade has good finish with slight water marks to the tip, staining and a couple of areas of rust bleed mainly to the tang areas on both sides, just the slightest of pit marks. One side of the blade when it left the factory had the makers details and from what i can see a military style motif, drums and flags , just below this is a tigers head and word ''Tiger'', this etch can still be made out but is faint. The handle i believe is molded tortoise shell in the form as seen with so called cutlery dirks, there are no chips or cracks, the top of the handle might have had a finishing button of sorts but im not 100% sure as the decoration ends right at the top of the pommel area. Cross guard is a thin nickle type. The period scabbard is made from cardboard that was painted , its in a distressed condition as expected made from board, its lost its bottom chape but still has its metal throat. All in all a decent example and made by a firm that does not come onto the market often. Dirk measures just under 11 inches. FOR SALE TO OVER 18'S AND UK ONLY.
Vintage Fighting Knife, Dirk, Puma, Wavy Blade. A very nice early dirk by the firm of Puma. The wavy blade has nearly all its plated finish with the tang area on both side having minor rust bleed, i presume from having rubbed against the top of the leather scabbard, the tip is nice but slightly blunted to the top needle, nice clear Puma trade mark to one side The handle is in nice condition with the two amber coloured segments without chips or cracks, pommel is tight to the tang, cross guard again secured without movement. The leather scabbard is supple but has a certain amount of loss to its finish, stitching is tight but the top loop is just held on by a few stitches, an easy fix. Dirk itself measures just over 9 inches. A nice example made more interesting with its wavy blade. NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY.
Vintage Fighting Knife, Dirk, The Army Gerneral Stores Ltd, Nottingham In very nice condition with the blade having staining and just the slightest of surface water markings and minor pitting near the tip, this if wanting could in my opinion be polished out. The blade has not been sharpened and the tang has clear markings for ''The Army General Stores, Nottingham. The handle is the type made to imitate a stag horn example, its either composite or bone, one small chip to the bottom near the cross guard but ive only just noticed it after years as it fits in nicely with the overall pattern, grips are held by three pins. Cross guard has a nickle appearance. Overall length is 10 inches. I myself would date this as an Edwardian example and its a first for me finding a dirk with such markings. Just the type to be sold in such stores to the Gentleman traveler of the time or British officer needing personal protection during his service. No scabbard sorry to say. NOT FOR SALE TO UNDER 18'S AND UK ONLY.

According to his paybook he joined at the age of 14 on 8.3.12 served in France from 1917 and was found no longer physically fit, he had a gun shot to his leg but no evidence of when this happened. The group consist of two paybooks, his first starting in 1914 and finishes half way through 1915, all home service. The second starts 17.2.17 and finishes 7.11.17 and all pay is ''in field''. His large red ''Army Form B'' again has all his service details as do a number of diffrent bits of paperwork including a nice list of items he would need when joining, dated 1914.There are 6 photos, two have pictures of serving soldier but im afraid no cards are annotated, a large piece of German shrapnel and a neat little trench made mirror with a hanging hook to the rear, lastly a nice WW1 rank stripes to a corporal This little lot recently turned up during a house clearance in Abergavenny and is new to the market.
WW1 5th Battalion Seaforth Highlanders Glengarry. For a cap of its age it has survived in good condition with a number of moth nips to the body and the leather bottom trim just starting to loose its top finish. The nap to the black material is as expected better to the top of the cap, the red and white checkered border has a number of moth nips and faded colour. The 5th battalion cap badge is in nice condition with good detail, it appears to have been on the cap for some time as the checkered colour is much stronger underneath when the side of the badge is lifted slightly as is the nap to the material, i have not removed the badge. The inside lining is complete and in used condition, the round paper label states a size of 6 and 3/4's. The back tail has been removed but the seam has been machine stitched shut as found with many examples that were used at the Front Lines. A nice looking example that has a certain amount of charm and character. May i add that the cap came with what appears to be a leather carrier, the cap just about fits inside and the central strap will just close shut over the cap, the cover has a good amount of age. This is the way i found it and i've noticed that there is a small number 6 stamped to the side making me wonder if this is indeed some sort of Glengarry leather carry cover and this particular cap being a tad larger than a size 6 making it a tighter fit.

WW1 Group, Cinema ,60th Artizan Works Coy, 135th Army Troops, R.E. John Kingston from Pontypridd joined the R.E. in 1915 and ended up in France working as a what appears to be a ''Gofer'' for an officer who worked with cinema behind the front lines. Boulogne i believe is the area as that's the Depot that Kingston would purchase the goods needed, going by the four invoice's from the Expeditionary Forces Canteen found in the group. All invoices relate to items needed in working with cinema. There is no name to the Officer but he's attached to the 135th Army troops of the R.E. Also found in the grouping are four photos of Kingston, two as a youth one with his company training using boats and one nice full length uniform shot of Kingston over in France. The bible is annotated to Kingston by his local Sunday school and dated 1915. The interesting early swastika good luck pendant and chain, silver Victorian coin, match safe and ribbon bar are also found among the photos and papers as are the small number of RE uniform buttons and small portrait of his son. An interesting little lot to a soldier who worked with a little known section of the British military during WW1, the use of early cinema during this time in France is only now coming to light.

The only markings to be found can be seen stamped to the inside bottom right under the repair, i can make out the Numbers 191....... but i have a hard time trying to make out the last number, when i first purchased im sure it was 1915 but when taking pictures for the update im sure it was 1917! Anyway its an appealing example and would look just right for a trench display and it does remind me of the type used by Commonwealth forces.
WW1 M16 Steel Helmet. This example has been painted black at some point, i would guess for use by WW2 Rescue services. The original factory finish can be seen under the black overpaint, inside crown has not been paint black, shell is solid. Liner is the early type with two pads remaining, both still have the pockets underneath but pillows have gone,WW1 veterans name to one pad. Neat WW2 period liner repair to the front. The binoculars are the civilian type found used during the early years due to the shortage of optics for the British army. The Binoculars are in nice condition with clear optics but one lens is slightly out when focusing, Gamson has used a leather cord as a neck strap. The letter was sent by Gamson from France in 1915 to his sweetheart in South Wales. Ganson was invalided home in 1915 with rheumatic fever.

The liner is again in very nice condition with no dryness or cracks, its maker marked and dated 1939 as is the helmet shell, chinstrap again in perfect condition. When i purchased this from the grandson of Police man who owned this helmet, inside was found a Secret Document on the Duties of the Police during the event of an Invasion, its named to the top, the owner of the helmet and signed to the bottom by a superintendent. A top example in my honest opinion.
WW2 British Poster, Smash'em Up But Theirs Not Ours! Super poster showing the difference between British and German tanks in an effort to distinguish Allied from Axis tanks . The condition is very good with the usual folding marks and slight fraying, considering that this is printed on the thinnest of paper stock then im amazed its survived, The size is 29x20 inches. Needs framing and would look super in your collecting room!
WW2 British RA Officers Visor Cap. This one has had some action as seen by the mud and grime found all about the cap, ive not tried to clean any part of it as i wanted to show you the combat wear. The buttons are KC bronze versions, the front cap badge has gone but the shadow can clearly be seen, leather chinstrap is supple but again dirty. There are numerous moth nips to the areas that have been covered as the under seams and behind the chinstrap. The inside has seen plenty of use with what appears to be mud staining to the top protective cover, leather sweatband is complete and quite supple with the front section adrift from the caps body. The protective cover has a split to the centre were the inside makers mark can be seen and the ''money shot'' being , by appointment to his majesty the King. The leather chinstrap is complete and supple.Four vent grommets to the rear. Both the front badge and buttons are the bronze officers type. The steel scabbard has a nice amount of its black factory finish but has some loss wich has not turn a nice dark colour from patina. The leather frog appears to be its original example, its complete but im sorry to say both top rivets have come adrift so the top hanging area flops back on itself. Its been blancoed in white numerous times of its history with some ending up to the lining inside. The tally with ''full stop'' is complete but a bit dirty and ends with a nice tight naval knot. As mentioned the inside is a bit grubby with blanco splatter and the cloth chinstrap is only just held together by a whisker. This example will display very well IMHO!
