This Type of Conversion was made to fit the German Gew. 88 conversion, also supplied at the same time. . The press stud was altered by inserting a small steel extension piece. Check out for the full history of these bayonets. They are quite rare and hold a special place in the History of the Irish. Condition: Photos show the condition well. It is in very nice condition with the press stud complete and workable. Mounts perfectly on a Gew.88 rifle. A beautiful and rare example in great condition. Northern Ireland Riot Helmet 1969 Very nice early type Riot helmet as used right from the start of the Troubles 1969 - the mid 1980s .The face shield was made in Northern Ireland in a hurry and was fixed to the first helmets and not removable, so haded over from one unit to the next for twenty years . This helmet was certainly in the thick of it . When these helmets were replaced most were destroyed so few survivors. This one is in not bad condition

Oil on Canvas Painting Depicting a Scene of the Dublin Rising Painting by Prof Robert Hogan Academic,Artist,Publisher, prolific playwright and critic ,actor,and director. Born in Missouri USA , he developed a love of Ireland and moved to Bray Co Dublin in the 1980s. He produced the Dictionary of Irish Literature, which was described as a bible of Irish Literature and a monument to his scholarship. Close friend of Sean O'Casey and studied with Elmer Rice . He loved theatre and wrote many plays. In the 1960s many of his dramas were produced in Los Angeles and in the 1970s he had several off Broadway successes. His best known play was A Better place, which starred Lynn Redgrave and Dan Herlihy at the gate in 1973. And later won the Showbusiness award for outstanding play of the year for an off Broadway production of it. The painting is an interpretation of a Famous GPO 1916 scene , and a great size.

A very sad chapter of the Troubles of Northern Ireland when three of the band were murdered by a patrol of a mixed group of rogue UDR /UVF killers,Two of the killers were also killed when a bomb they attempted to plant on the tour bus exploded prematurely. Five original event picture cards signed by most of the band . With at least two signatures of lead singer Fran o'Toole and also Brian Mc Coy and Tony Geraghty. Also an original period glass pin dish with a picture of the band . I have never seen other items to this band for sale on the market.

Royal irish constabulary Carbine 1855 dated A Rare Royal Irish Constabulary 1855 Dated Tower Carbine And Bayonet A rare and well looked after percussion pattern 1840 Calibre .650 Royal Irish Constabulary carbine. The lockplate is stamped with the Crown above VR and Tower 1855. It is therefore dated just after the 1845 to 1849 famine. The barrel bears numerous inspection marks and a War Department Mark. The brass butt tang is marked ‘C3975’. (‘C’ is Constabulary) and a umber \'41\' (rack number) is marked to left side of the butt. The ramrod is original and stamped with serial no. ‘2102’ and it is proofed by the War Department. The carbine also comes with the correct Lovell locking bayonet. The barrel is 26.5 inches (67.3 cm) long and the overall length of the musket is 43 inches (109.3 cm). The metalwork has age signs and a nice patina. The bore looks in good condition. The woodwork has minor nicks but is in overall good condition. The action is good, it half-cocks, cocks and releases with a strong spring

WW2 Swift training rifle Very nice WW2 dated Swift Training rifle.In the Second World War the Swift Training rifle was available to teach the required sight picture and the correct hold of the rifle as well as the correct operation of the action, the finesse of trigger pull, and the importance of prevention of cant of the rifle. The system was not popular with the Army, but the Royal Air Force used it quite extensively and two variations of the rifle were produced that were analogous to the different service rifles available at the time. Both came packaged in a sturdy wooden box that held the rifle and the paper targets used with it: This rifle is near mint with its original carry case and with some Original WW2 paper targets. No licence is required for this .
